Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

Learnify ("the app", "we") is a tech-news reader that shows headlines from public sources and links you out to read the full article on the publisher's own website. This policy explains what data the app handles.

Data we collect

Learnify does not sell your personal data or use session replay. The iOS app uses product analytics to operate and improve features and may use advertising measurement only after you authorize Apple's App Tracking Transparency request. The website's optional aggregate analytics is described below.

Where data is processed

Supabase provides account authentication and cloud synchronization. Apple processes App Store purchases. Google receives automatic favicon requests as described above and processes sign-in information if you choose Sign in with Google. Superwall provides paywall presentation and product analytics. RevenueCat provides purchase validation and subscription infrastructure when enabled. Meta provides permission-gated advertising measurement. Our marketing endpoint processes contact details only after an explicit opt-in. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and for the purposes described in this policy.

Marketing communications

If you opt in, we use your email (and optional phone number) only to send you Learnify updates and digests. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also email privacy@techscroll.app to be removed at any time.

News content

To populate your feed, the app requests public news metadata (headlines, source names, categories, links) from our content endpoint. These requests do not include your account information or any personal identifiers. Article headlines and links belong to their respective publishers; Learnify links you out to read full articles at the source.

AI-generated summaries

The short summaries shown in Learnify are generated or assisted by automated systems using publicly available article and research-paper metadata. No private account information, library data, or learning progress is sent to summary processing.

Tracking

On iOS, Learnify requests App Tracking Transparency permission only when the release includes the Meta advertising-measurement integration. If you allow it, Meta may use the permitted device and subscription-event data to measure advertising across apps or websites. If you deny permission, Meta measurement does not start and no Learnify feature is limited. Superwall analytics is used for Learnify's own product and subscription experience; it is not used by Learnify for cross-app advertising.

On the website, anonymous Vercel Web Analytics is disabled unless you explicitly choose Allow anonymous analytics. It records only allowlisted aggregate events such as screen views, coarse feature actions, and foreground engagement-minute counts. We do not send article titles or URLs, searches, form or flashcard contents, email addresses, account IDs, raw error messages, or session recordings. You can change your choice at any time using Analytics preferences.

Your choices

You can use Learnify as a guest, update your interests, disable optional notifications, unsubscribe from marketing messages, sign out, or permanently delete your account from inside the app. Account deletion and Apple subscription cancellation are separate actions.

Children

Learnify is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data deletion

You can permanently delete your account from Account & Privacy on the subscription screen or from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion removes the account and associated synchronized data from our servers, detaches the app's subscription and analytics identities, and clears saved items, likes, and learning progress from the device. If your session has expired, Learnify may ask you to sign in again before it can authorize deletion. Uninstalling the app removes device-only data but does not by itself delete a signed-in account or its synchronized data.

Deleting your Learnify account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple. Apple billing continues until you cancel the subscription. We recommend cancelling before deleting your account; you can review or cancel it from iOS subscription settings or at Apple's Manage Subscriptions page. You may still delete your account without cancelling.

Detaching an analytics or subscription identity in the app does not itself delete records held by Apple, Google, Superwall, RevenueCat, Meta, or another provider. Provider records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for product measurement, purchase validation, fraud prevention, support, and legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized under the applicable provider's practices. To request deletion of provider-held records associated with your account or device, email privacy@techscroll.app; we will identify the applicable provider and coordinate a deletion or anonymization request, subject to legal, security, and provider-retention requirements.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
